Snake loose in Toronto apartment building
TORONTO (UPI) -- Residents of a Toronto apartment building said they were on the lookout for a 3-foot snake loose in the building.
Notices have been posted on walls and the 20-story building's tenants' association Web site urged residents to be on the lookout for the albino California king snake, which experts said is not poisonous and does not pose a threat to animals larger than rodents, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
The snake, which escaped from its owner's apartment, can go up to a week without eating, experts said.
"I can't go to the bathroom without thinking it might be in the toilet or something," resident Karynah Zeh said. "Which is probably totally untrue, but you don't know, right? All those stories that scared you when you were a little kid."
